Android app

Download and install the library as a real app on an Android phone or tablet.

The Android app is a thin wrapper around this same site. It installs like any other APK, then opens the library full screen with no browser bars — the fastest way to use the shelves on a phone, and it keeps working when the signal drops because the pages you have visited stay cached.

No APK on the server yet. Rather than show a button that downloads nothing, this one is disabled. Building it takes about five minutes and needs no Android tools on your machine — the full recipe is in downloads/README.txt: upload the finished oeac-library.apk into the downloads/ folder and this button turns itself on.

How to build the APK — no Android SDK, no command line

Because the site is already an installable PWA, the Android package is generated from the live site rather than compiled by hand:

  1. Make sure the domain is live over HTTPS first.
  2. Open pwabuilder.com and enter https://library.oeacnetwork.com.
  3. Choose Package for stores → Android.
  4. Package ID com.oeacnetwork.library, app name OEAC Digital Library, and keep the signing key on “Create new”.
  5. Download the ZIP. Rename the .apk to oeac-library.apk and upload it into the downloads/ folder.
  6. Copy the sha256_cert_fingerprints value from the generated assetlinks.json into this site's .well-known/assetlinks.json — a placeholder is waiting there.

Keep the keystore file and its passwords safe. Without it you cannot publish an update to the same app identity.

Install the app

One click in your browser. Nothing to download, nothing to build, no app store.

OEAC Digital Library is a Progressive Web App. That means the site you are reading right now can install itself onto your phone, tablet or computer — the same way a normal app does — directly from the browser.

There is no .exe, no .dmg and no package to unpack, so there is nothing that can be out of date, blocked by antivirus, or tied to one operating system. When we publish a new feature or a new batch of books, your installed app gets it the next time it opens.

What you get once installed

📶

Works offline

The app shell and every page you have already visited stay available with no connection. Books you opened are cached too.

🏠

Its own icon

Sits on your home screen or desktop next to your other apps, and opens full screen with no browser bars.

🔄

Always current

New books and new features arrive automatically. Nothing to re-download, no update button.

🔐

No third-party store

Installs straight from this site. No Google Play, no App Store, no account with anyone but us.

For developers: a desktop build also exists

The electron/ folder in this project contains an Electron wrapper that loads the same site. Its installers are not built or published — and since the browser install above already covers Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, there is no need to ship them. If you ever do, build each platform's installer on that platform (npm run dist inside electron/), because electron-builder cannot cross-build a Windows installer on macOS or a macOS DMG on Windows.
