No tracking pixels Four first-party cookies

Privacy, in plain language

The short version: this is a library, not an advertising network. We store what we need to run a library — your account, what you read, what you download — and nothing that exists only to track you around the web. We do not sell data and we do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.

What we store

Matched to the actual database tables, so you can see exactly what is there.

CategoryWhat it containsTable
Account details username, email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), full name, country, preferred language and theme, plus the last sign-in time and how many times you have signed in. users
Reading progress which book you were on, the last page, the percentage read, scroll position and the seconds you have spent reading it. reading_progress
Favourites which books you saved, and when. favorites
Downloads and reads an event record each time a book is downloaded, read or previewed — with the book, the IP address the request came from and the browser user-agent string. downloads
Premium orders for a paid book: the order code, amount, payment method, an optional transaction reference and any proof-of-payment file you upload. orders
Newsletter the email address you subscribed with, its language and the IP it was submitted from. newsletter
Contact messages your name, email, subject, message and the IP it was sent from. contact_messages
A small audit log sensitive actions (sending a message, running an import, admin changes) recorded with the acting account, an action name and an IP address. audit_log

Guest activity: if you browse or read without signing in, a read event may still be recorded with the book, IP address and user-agent, but with no account attached. We do not build a profile from it.

What the cookies do

Four first-party cookies. That is the whole list.

CookiePurposeWhat it holdsLifetime
oeac_sid Session Keeps you signed in for the current visit. Removed when you sign out or close the session. Session
oeac_remember Sign-in token Only if you tick "remember me". A selector plus a random verifier; the verifier is stored hashed and re-issued on every use. Lets you return without retyping your password. 30 days
oeac_lang Preference Remembers the language you chose (English, Persian, Pashto, Dari). 1 year
oeac_theme Preference Remembers whether you chose the dark or light theme. 1 year

The session and remember-me cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and become Secure once the site is served over HTTPS. None of them are used for advertising, and none of them are shared with anyone else.

Who else is involved

We use Google Fonts to load the site's typefaces, which means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers. Apart from that, the page loads only from this server. There are no analytics scripts, no social buttons, no advertising networks and no tracking pixels on any page.

Book files and covers are served directly from this host. If you install the desktop app, it connects to this same server and stores its settings (server URL and theme) locally on your own machine.

Deleting your account

Email info@oeacnetwork.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will remove your account and the records tied to it — progress, favourites, remember-me tokens and order history — subject to any records we are required to keep for accounting.

This page is a static, plain-language statement of how the library handles data. It is written to be understandable, not to satisfy any particular jurisdiction's legal wording, and it is not legal advice. If you need something more formal, ask us.
